IT Helpdesk/Windows Administrator - FILLED

Position Requirements: We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated IT professional with 2-5 years of Windows administration/helpdesk experience. This position will provide the support for resolving software, hardware, and network access issues for Windows XP based computers. Position offers the opportunity to gain experience in other areas of IT such as Linux administration. Based in: Fremont, California.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
  • Administer and manage VERITAS Backup Exec
  • Day-to-day technical support for local and remote employees
  • Resolve hardware and software issues for employees ( helpdesk)
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking and services (such as DNS, DHCP, SNMP, etc.)
  • Understanding of network concepts (such as routing and NAT)
  • Create procedural documentation as required
  • Notebook and desktop configuration for new hires and existing employees (Windows XP Pro)
  • Create and manage user accounts and email administration
  • Provide basic PBX extension administration
Salary: Based on experience
Hours: 40 hours per week
Education & Experience:

2-5 years of experience with MS, Desktop, Exchange, Hands on Computer hardware and software, Servers, etc.

Skill Requirements: The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
  • A minimum of 2-5 years prior experience supporting network operating systems and server-based applications
  • Strong process orientation with a focus on repeatability
  • Experience working with Microsoft Exchange
  • Strong Windows XP and Windows 2003 Server experience
  • Familiarity with Linux a plus
  • LDAP knowledge a plus
  • Working knowledge of Veritas Backup Exec
  • Strong working knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy Objects
  • Ability to effectively troubleshoot problems quickly
  • Excellent communication skills
