AutoFarm Makes Strategic Investment in gpsAg
Investment will accelerate growth and boost customer service
Bendigo, Australia—3 November, 2006
AutoFarm® , the leader in GPS precision farming, today announced it has finalised a strategic investment in gpsAg®.
gps-Ag will be managed as an independent company by its current management and will continue to carry the same precision product lines requested by its customers.
gps-Ag is the most successful provider of precision agriculture products in Australia. A recent Farming Ahead research report found 97 percent of owners with autosteer systems who bought from gps-Ag would buy the same product again, the highest rating of any manufacturer or distributor in the survey.
"Our business philosophy is pretty simple – to provide the best value-for-money tools backed by the best technical support available," said Brendan Williams, director of gps-Ag. "The investment by AutoFarm will help accelerate our growth and enable us to better serve our customers."
Established in 1999, gps-Ag currently employs over thirty sales and service staff throughout all major agricultural production regions in Australia. The company's field staff work directly with the end user of the products, which ensures the advice and service they provide is specific to each and every grower.
"gps-Ag's impressive profitability and growth attracted our investment," said Herb Satterlee, CEO of AutoFarm. "We don't expect a lot of change in the business, we like what we see and we want to be part of it."
Australia is an innovative and growing market for GPS steering and guidance products. In 2000, gps-Ag installed the first AutoFarm AutoSteer system outside North America. Today AutoFarm is the dominant RTK AutoSteer® product in Australia, with almost twice as many units in the field than any other supplier.
